Community Outreach
Simply defined, community outreach is the practice of conducting local public awareness activities through targeted community interaction. Outreach activities are those efforts that can directly affect our area veterans and their families through local interaction. Our goal is to ensure the community, at large, is aware of the needs and resources available to veterans and their families.
Other local channels of communication range from civic organizations to local support organizations and associations. Successful community outreach focuses on the issue’s relevance to the community and acknowledges the community’s challenges in addressing the issue.
The Columbia Basin Veterans Coalition (CBVC) will specifically address the following;
- Identifies responsibility issues and develops the CBVC strategy
- Develop a participatory community outreach strategy including goals and objectives
- Provide leadership, coordination and delegation of activities and policies related to responsibility issues
- Coordinate community outreach programs in coordination with other CBVC programs as well with community organizations
- Acts as the center of excellence on the CBVC responsibility topics and trends
- Monitors the CBVC’s reputation and adjusts strategy as needed
