Mission Statement

The mission of the Counseling Program of the Columbia Basin Veterans Coalition Resource Center is to provide, at no fee, confidential psychological counseling, consultation, and referral services to veterans and their families. These counseling services include: Counseling for adjustment (reintegration); Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Bereavement; Military Sexual Trauma; and other service-related issues.

Our Objectives

1. Secure authorization and funding from the Veterans Administration and additiona funding from regional and local sources to support quality care
2. Integrate the program with other Resource Center services such as Mentoring
3. Provide individual, small group, and class counseling and work with medical professionals and social workers when implementing strategies to help veterans succeed
4. Provide information to attract veterans on the web page and other public media
5. Work with the veteran's family to insure support during counseling
6. Provide in-house counseling or community referral in dealing with; Vocational Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Marriage and Family concerns.
