Public Information

The CBVC, Inc. seeks to complete the Circle of Service veterans have provided by assisting veterans with the ability to access the services and benefits they have earned by their service to our country; by educating the general public on the mental and physical effects of military service on veterans and their families; and to support the social well-being of veterans and their families when transitioning back to civilian life.

In 2008, the newly formed CBVC, Inc. started immediately to formalize the new organization. Fundamental organizational documents were developed to provide the necessary controls and guidelines to operate and manage the organization. A Mission Statement, By-Laws, Program Descriptions, short and long term Visions, and various procedures and objectives were put in place to manage our growth and path forward. The 501(c)(3) application has been processed and accepted by the Internal Revenue Service.

CBVC has the following programs: Veterans Benefits, Community Outreach, Counseling, Mentoring, and Veterans Community Service. Brief descriptions are provided below.

Veterans Benefits program provides a description of various benefits that veterans have earned, and personnel to help access those benefits. Most of the benefits include emergency assistance, disability payments, medical access, and training/college payments.  The benefits program is also responsible for operation of the Resource Center.

Community Outreach includes Public Communications and Fundraising. This program provides the communication conduit to veterans and the general community.

Counseling includes a chaplaincy, PTSD counselors, counselors, Pointman Ministries, and a VA led peer support group.  Many veterans suffer physical, emotional, and spiritual injury as the result of the service to our Country. This program completes the rehabilitation of the veteran beyond the physical care offered by the Benefits program.

Mentoring provides mentors to assist the veteran, one-on-one, to best use the job placement, training, and educational benefits.  This program is necessarily closely integrated with the Benefits and Counseling programs.  It also includes some financial counseling through presentation of the “Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace” seminar.

Veterans Community Services provides services to those veterans that are simply overwhelmed and need assistance in providing stability for growth.  This program includes emergency assistance for a wide range of needs along with transitional living accommodations.  This program often requires considerable coordination with services available in our other programs.
